Key Takeaways from the Speech of International President Lion A. P. Singh

Lion A P Singh delivered his speech during the inaugural session of All India Schooling of MCC, DG, FVDG and SVDG. So inspiring and so thoughtful …

1. Uniform Identity – Only the Lions Logo

The International President or District Governor shall not use any other logo than official logo. The only official logo recognized is the Lions International Logo. Pins may be designed to felicitate individuals; however, no design of such pins should be printed on any district stationery including banners, visiting cards, letterheads, directories etc.

2. Leadership with Humility

All top leaders, including Past International Presidents (PIPs), International Directors (IDs), Past International Directors (PIDs), and AIS faculty members, were seated at the back of the hall. This gesture sent a strong message that new members should be encouraged and given the opportunity to come forward.

    3. Understanding Protocol Through Leadership Example

The concept of protocol was illustrated with a powerful metaphor: “If relief material is being sent in a truck during a disaster, the President should be the first to sit in that truck.” The core message: anyone wishing to take a seat on the stage must also lead from the front in action.

    4. Mission 1.5 – Service First

Mission 1.5 is not merely about increasing membership. Its primary goal is to expand Lions’ service reach to 1 billion (100 crore) people globally—currently at around 500 million (50 crore). The focus is on impact, not numbers alone so we all have to work on this mission on top most priority.

    5. Leading by Example

Senior leadership must practice what they preach. Whether it is contributing to LCIF or fulfilling the goals of Mission 1.5, top leaders are expected to take the first step before expecting it from the general membership.

    6. The Power of Listening

A true leader must possess the ability to hear even the unspoken words. This emotional intelligence reflects the leader’s deep connection with grassroots Lions and their needs.

All Lion members are requested to take a note of it and we all need to follow the same as desired by him.
